Growing with the community
Through its Community Relations department, La Finca Unidad develops various programs that promote economic growth and, above all, communication with the communities near the company. The offices within this department are located at the very heart of the communities, so that people can request information, file complaints, share concerns, or receive answers without bureaucratic procedures hindering the process. Through these programs, La Finca Unidad has brought drinking water to many remote municipalities, in addition to widening and modernizing the main land access roads. This department is responsible for repairing breakdowns, organizing medical operations, promoting school and community gardens, and coordinating support activities for the elderly, among other initiatives.
Health
Through this program, La Finca Unidad carries out its medical operations. In most cases, these operations are carried out from a large community, which serves as the operational nucleus for other smaller communities. Doctors attend the people and distribute medicines free of charge while auxiliary personnel are in charge of transporting people living in the more remote communities. These medical units also provide follow-up care for patients requiring prolonged treatment for diabetes or heart conditions, among other pre-existing conditions.
Education
This is a program aimed at schools in the communities near the sugarcane plantations, where La Finca Unidad promotes the creation of school gardens. Throughout the year, our staff provides lectures on cultivation and safety. They also provide backpacks, notebooks, pencils and other school supplies. The program also includes other educational initiatives aimed at adults, including meetings coordinated by the Asociación Pro Superación Personal (ANSPAC)/CEMEX on parenting. Similarly, workshops for young people are organized in collaboration with INFOTEP: diesel mechanics, automotive electricity, detergent manufacturing, jewelry making, etc.
Neighborhood council
Our company’s name includes a word that defines its principles: unity. For this reason, La Finca Unidad promotes a program that offers logistical and economic support to neighborhood councils that work for the progress of their communities. These collaborations also include the religious congregations that carry out their pastoral work in these communities.
Support program for the regularization of our foreign collaborators
Our foreign collaborators and their families receive free advice so that they can regularize their migratory situation in the country. The procedural, legal, and logistical costs are covered 100% by La Finca Unidad. This documentation and regularization program is one of the most important initiatives developed by the company together with the CAEI.
